John was raised in the West Park area of Cleveland and attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood. He later earned engineering and business degrees from The University of Akron, and currently resides in Strongsville with his wife Lori, their five children (including two sets of twins!), and their fearless protectors Lucy and Sadie.
